Gaia Oliva is a premium Turkish olive oil company dedicated to producing authentic, cold-pressed olive oils rooted in centuries-old Anatolian traditions. The brand is currently ranked 6th in the world for olive oil, reflecting its exceptional quality and craftsmanship. As Gaia Oliva expands into North America, the brand is undergoing a brand update / rebranding process (currently underway)and preparing to launch a stronger, more intentional e-commerce presence to reach consumers who prioritize authenticity, health, and high-quality ingredients.
Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic, creative, and highly organized Head of Marketing to lead marketing and e-commerce efforts for both Ignite Pizzeria and Gaia Oliva. This unique dual-brand role blends hospitality, food & beverage, and consumer packaging goodsmarketing with a strong emphasis on both in-store and online growth strategies content development, and brand building.
The ideal candidate is experienced in leading and managing brands, as well as developing high-impact marketing strategies. They will be supported by one full-time Marketing Specialist, along with various external creative, digital, and production partners.
Key Responsibilities
Shared Responsibilities Across Both Brands
Brand Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and lead the overarching marketing strategy, brand positioning, and storytelling for both brands.
- Build annual marketing plans that support business objectives and reflect each brand’s distinct identity.
- Maintain clarity and consistency across all brand touchpoints, ensuring both Ignite and Gaia Oliva remain culturally relevant and highly differentiated.
Creative & Content Direction
- Oversee the creation of high-quality visual and written content—including photo, video, social media, packaging, and campaign assets.
- Guide the creative direction for ongoing brand update efforts at Gaia Oliva and brand expansions at Ignite.
- Manage external creatives, agencies, and freelancers to ensure premium output.
Digital Marketing & Performance
- Lead digital strategy across both brands: social media, paid digital ads, SEO/SEM, email marketing, website optimization, and analytics.
- Build customer journeys that improve acquisition, retention, and loyalty.
- Monitor and report on KPIs, adjusting strategies to maximize ROI.
Research, Insights & Reporting
- Conduct ongoing market research for both brands, including competitive analysis, consumer trends, and category insights (restaurant industry for Ignite; premium olive oil and consumer packaged goods for Gaia Oliva).
- Identify emerging digital, social, and product trends that could inform brand or product innovation.
- Analyze customer data, sales patterns, digital behavior, and campaign performance across all channels.
- Prepare monthly reports for founders and leadership teams with insights, performance dashboards, and actionable recommendations.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and adjust strategies accordingly.
- For Gaia Oliva: track North American market opportunities, specialty retail trends, and competitor positioning within the premium olive oil category.
- For Ignite: report on local engagement opportunities, neighborhood trends, guest preferences, and loyalty program insights.
Leadership & Management
- Manage and mentor the Marketing Specialist, fostering a supportive and high-performance environment.
- Oversee agency relationships, contracts, timelines, and budgets.
- Present insights, reports, and recommendations to the principal of Ignite, and mangement team.
- Build and maintain relationship with external stakeholders, partners, and local communities
Ignite Pizzeria–Specific Responsibilities
Community-Based Local Marketing
- Strengthen Ignite’s presence in Vancouver through partnerships, PR, community activations, and events.
- Lead marketing initiatives for the opening for the upcoming North Vancouver location, and the future 2027 Coquitlam location.
- Support menu launches, seasonal campaigns, and local promotional efforts.
Internal Communications Lead
- Together with the marketing specialist, liase with staff and store managers to ensure marketings campaigns and promotions are realistic and able to be executed by the operation.
- Connect with staff and store managers to ensure Ignite news, feedback, and promotions are well communicated
- Create a staff training system for new staff to understand the Ignite brand, and for current staff to be updated annually on the brand’s growth and evolution.
Guest Experience & Loyalty
- Oversee Ignite’s loyalty strategy
- Improve the guest journey across dine-in, online ordering, takeout, and delivery.
- Enhance on-premise branding, signage, packaging, and customer-facing materials.
Digital & Revenue-Focused Initiatives
- Optimize online ordering funnels and promotions to drive sales.
- Develop campaigns that support growth across all revenue streams, in-store, online, and with third party partners.
Gaia Oliva–Specific Responsibilities
Branding Update & Market Entry
- Continue and lead the current brand update process for the North American market.
- Ensure packaging, messaging, and brand visuals resonate with premium, quality‑focused consumers.
- Maintain alignment with Gaia Oliva’s Turkish origins and global brand prestige (including its #5 world ranking).
E-Commerce Growth & Digital Sales
- Build and execute Gaia Oliva’s North American e-commerce strategy, including:
- Shopify ecosystem
- Direct-to- Consumer funnels
- Email + SMS lifecycle campaigns
- Social media accounts
- Paid media and influencer partnerships
- Drive conversion rate optimization, subscription opportunities, and customer retention.
Retail & Trade Support
- Create marketing assets for distributors, retailers, and specialty food partners.
- Support trade show presence, sampling programs, and product launch marketing.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience in a management or similar leadership role.
- 5+ years of total marketing experience, ideally across food & beverage, hospitality, or consumer packaging goods.
- Proven ability to lead both brand-building and performance-driven marketing strategies.
- Experience overseeing rebrands, product launches, or multi-market brand expansions.
- Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices and digital performance optimization.
- Excellent creative instincts, with the ability to guide visual and verbal identity.
- Strong analytical mindset; able to interpret data and translate it into actionable strategies.
- Experience managing teams, agencies, and cross-functional partnerships.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with multiple priorities. As a small business growing quickly, the ability roll up your sleeve and partake where needed is an asset to the team.
- Knowledge of a variety of software tools for project managment and point of sale (specifically Asana and Toast an asset), as well as experience incorporating AI into workplanning (either Co-pilot or Chat GPT, amongst other tools).
